Alternative Investment Management
Alternative investments provide qualified investors with exposure to markets and investment strategies that cannot be accessed through traditional fixed income and equity markets. Glenmore utilizes alternative investments as a means of enhancing returns, increasing diversification, and lowering overall volatility of client portfolios. Because of factors such as liquidity, transparency, tax inefficiency, and complexity, alternative investments are not appropriate for all investors. Given the specific purpose and demands of each portfolio, the strategic allocation is based on overall client suitability.
We work closely with each client to determine the degree to which the portfolio should include alternative investments. Glenmore dedicates a significant portion of our resources to researching and sourcing non-traditional investments including hedge funds, private equity, and private real estate. In addition to attractive risk-adjusted return potential, alternatives allow clients to diversify their portfolios by investment strategy, portfolio manager, industry sector, geography, and liquidity needs. We rely on our extensive experience to identify, evaluate, and thoroughly vet managers. Some of the yardsticks we use include: performance, fidelity to investment style, expertise in the use of leverage, and understanding of risk management. We offer our clients access to the unique alternative investment managers in the industry.
